The COVID-19 pandemic has forced all of us to be more conscious about cleanliness, safety, and good hygiene practices, and you might be worried about COVID-19 during your move. Many families have been able to shelter in place and wait for the situation to improve. However, if you need to relocate in the next few weeks, you don’t have the option of outwaiting the outbreak. So, what can you do to minimize (or virtually eliminate) any risk of contracting the coronavirus during your move? At Mesa Moving and Storage, we care about your safety, as well as that of your family. For that reason, we have put the following practices in place when helping our customers to move.
1. Our Movers Wear Appropriate PPE
COVID-19 is primarily transmitted through physical contact. It can also spread through respiratory droplets from coughing, sneezing, and more. Because of that, each one of our moving helpers will wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safeguard both you and themselves from the possibility of getting COVID-19 during your move. We’re talking about masks, gloves, and anything else that may be needed.
2. We Follow Social Distancing Guidelines
We all know by now that in order to slow the spread of COVID-19, it’s important to keep a distance of at least six feet between us and others. Our team of moving professionals takes this and other social distancing guidelines very seriously. As we enter and exit your home or storage area, we’ll follow those safety measures. We’ll make sure that we consistently maintain a safe distance between our team and you — even if that means waiting a few extra moments to pack an item or lift a box onto the truck.
3. We Keep Our Teams Small
The bigger the crowd, the higher the risk that someone will get infected with coronavirus. With that in mind, we are keeping our team of moving helpers small. Each group is limited to the number that is required to perform the move safely and efficiently. This policy will help you to stay safer from COVID-19 during your move without sacrificing much-needed assistance.
4. The Movers We Send Are Healthy
If one of our team members shows even the slightest hint of being sick or having a fever, then we’ll send him home to self-quarantine. We won’t send out any moving professionals that could be infected with COVID-19. If our movers come to your door, then they are strong, healthy, and ready to work.
5. We Make Liberal Use of Disinfectants
It’s been proven that disinfecting agents can help kill the viral cells that make up COVID-19. With that in mind, each one of our trucks has an abundant amount of disinfecting cleaners and sanitizers on hand. Also, our moving professionals make frequent use of that disinfectant.
